Can I Use Contraception?

Yes — you can use contraception. There are lots of safe options, but it’s important to know that some anti-seizure medications and some contraceptive medications (including the morning after pill) can affect each other and possibly increase the risk of unwanted pregnancy or seizures. This doesn’t mean you can’t use them; it just means you might need a method that’s more reliable for you, or one that won’t interact with your medication.

Talk to your GP or neurologist to work out which options are best for your body and your medication. They can explain things privately and without judgment, and help you choose something that keeps you safe, protected, and in control of your sexual health.

Contraception is about making choices that feel right for you.

You may need to take additional precautions to prevent unexpected pregnancy.
