It is a challenge for many children to manage their emotions and find the best way to deal with a situation they are not happy about.
All parents have experienced their child having a ‘melt down’ when it was time to stop screen time, or they weren’t allowed an ice-cream or they had to share their favourite toy. Learning to express disappointments and frustrations appropriately is a developmental skill which continues to be refined well into adolescence and even adulthood.
