It can be easy to prioritise your time and energy to your child with epilepsy first, and then your other children, without leaving any reserves for yourself or your partner.

It is important to recognise that your coping will affect the entire family. Try and make time for your other relationships.

Accessing professional counselling may help you individually, or as a couple or family, for times when your child’s diagnosis seems overwhelming.
