New Website and Logo Reflects ‘Take Action’ Approach

During my 11 years as CEO of Epilepsy Action Australia I have been very lucky to be part of many exciting initiatives, including Purple Day and the launch of the MyEpilepsyKey resource. But I have to say that the unveiling this month of our fabulous new website and logo joins my list of significant highlights.

We have designed and developed the website directly in response to your needs and preferences. Over the years as our services expanded, we found that our previous website was not keeping up with our extensive resources or our future vision. We wanted to give you a website that is faster and easier to navigate, has a fresher look and is more compatible with what we stand for as an organisation – ensuring those affected by epilepsy have access to skills and knowledge to lead the very best life possible.

Revamping our website also provided the perfect opportunity to review and modernise our logo. The flame has represented Epilepsy Action for close to two decades and is an established international epilepsy symbol of hope and light. We were extremely mindful of not wanting to lose our link to our heritage and 65 year history as the oldest provider of epilepsy services. However, we also know how important it is to ‘move with the times’ and present with a contemporary logo that reflects our dynamic, and innovative approach to providing our services.

Together with the tagline ‘life changing impact’, we feel that our new logo encapsulates the heart, mind and heritage of our organisation. Visually the elements of the logo represent the brain – the centre point of the condition, and the heart – our focus on care and empathy. It also retains a visual representation of the flame as an epilepsy symbol in order to illustrate our long history and established reputation. And of course it incorporates our favourite colour purple!

We are so excited to share our new look and website, which we think gives a pretty good idea of who we are, what we do and more importantly how we can help you and your family.

I’d like to thank Epilepsy Action’s extremely hard working team who spent many months considering and listening to the needs of our valued members and transforming ideas and concepts into a user-friendly platform that I’m sure will serve us well now and into the future.

We are a small and lean organisation that achieves a lot  – and  we are passionate about what we do. We hope you like our new website and logo as much as we do, and, like us, feel it is representative of the assertive, energetic ‘take action’ approach we have to everything we do in order to improve the lives of those with epilepsy.
