Arthur’s Story 💜
Beth never imagined that epilepsy would become part of her family’s life.
Her son Arthur was diagnosed in January 2025 after months of testing. Like so many families, they were suddenly thrown into a world of medications, appointments, and sleepless nights, learning just how unpredictable and frightening epilepsy can be.
But Arthur was so much more than his diagnosis.
He was vibrant, funny, and completely obsessed with monster trucks. With a collection of over 150, he loved organising them by colour and type. He was full of energy, fearless, and larger than life. He was a little boy who brought joy wherever he went.
Tragically, on 21 August 2025, Arthur passed away from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy).
No family is ever prepared for a loss like this, or for SUDEP to become part of their story.
In the midst of unimaginable grief, Arthur gave one final, extraordinary gift, donating his heart, kidneys, and liver. A reflection of the love and strength he carried in his short but deeply impactful life.
This Purple Day, Arthur’s family is fundraising in his honour, raising awareness of epilepsy and SUDEP, and helping ensure other families have access to the information, support, and honest conversations they need.
As part of their Purple Day efforts, Arthur’s family, based in Western Sydney, have brought their community together in powerful ways. Over the weekend, they held a community walk in Arthur’s honour, joined by family, daycare teachers, and friends, raising awareness and celebrating his life. They are continuing this momentum on Purple Day itself, hosting an event at Fit Kidz Box Hill, further shining a light on epilepsy and SUDEP within their community.
Arthur’s life, though far too short, continues to inspire.
In loving memory of Arthur 💜
