Because every child’s experience is different, teachers and families benefit from simple, reliable ways to identify learning difficulties early and put the right strategies in place.
To make this easier, we’ve developed the Thinking Skills Screener – a practical, interactive screening tool designed for parents and educators. It helps build a clear picture of how epilepsy may be affecting a child’s thinking skills, attention, memory, and classroom participation, and provides personalised guidance to support learning at school and at home.
Interactive Thinking Skills Screener
This is a practical, interactive tool to help understand and provide learning support to any child with epilepsy in the classroom.
- Answer simple questions based on what you observe in the classroom to identify strengths and challenges across key thinking skills – including attention, memory, planning and task completion for that student.
- Receive a personalised report with practical, evidence-informed strategies to support learning and participation at school and at home.
The screener can also highlight students who may benefit from further assessment or support from professionals such as an occupational therapist or neuropsychologist.

Epilepsy: Learning impacts and classroom strategies
Epilepsy can affect how a child learns, concentrates, and engages at school. This new course for teachers and support staff is designed to help understand these impacts and create a supportive, inclusive environment for students with epilepsy.
This is a short, flexible, self-paced course designed for teachers to build confidence in supporting students with epilepsy – equipping them with practical, evidence-informed strategies to use in the classroom.
It includes:
- How brain function links to learning challenges
- How epilepsy can affect attention, memory and executive function
- Common co-existing conditions and their impact
- Practical classroom support strategies
- Real-world case studies
- Where to find additional support
Developed by occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, teachers and nurses this course provides a comprehensive understanding of how epilepsy can impact thinking and learning.
Includes short learning checks throughout and a certificate of completion.
