This depends on the type of epilepsy that you have.

A lot of children grow out of their seizures, while others get diagnosed during puberty.

If you have had good seizure control for 2 or more years, then the doctor may consider weaning you off medication.

Some types of epilepsy are lifelong, whilst others seem to go away.

Ask your doctor about your prognosis.
