What is the Key?
This ‘key’ shaped USB type stick provides access to a specially designed website that can only be accessed the first time via the key (or the QR code on the backing card for the key). This site provides people living with epilepsy instant access to vital information, resources and self-management tools, to help people better manage their or their child’s epilepsy.
Why is it important?
The ‘key’ format for this project was inspired by the legend of Tony Greig’s key to test the cricket pitch, but it was also chosen because it is small, portable, practical, and appealing, and its small size lends itself to being easily distributed through hospitals, doctors, clinics and retail outlets.
Our goal is to provide MyEpilepsyKey to every person or family affected by epilepsy in Australia. This is a fitting tribute to Tony Greig and his remarkable contribution.
One of the main challenges of living with epilepsy is its unpredictability. This can impact a person’s wellbeing, both physically and psychologically.
MyEpilepsyKey allows people to play a part in the active management of their condition and give them back some control over their lives.
