Membership
In line with the constitution of Epilepsy Association, membership is available to those individuals and groups in the community who want to have a direct say in the governance of Epilepsy Association, trading as Epilepsy Action Australia. Membership is available to persons over the age of 18 years.
The Objects for which the Association is established are to:
- (a) Enhance the quality of life of persons with seizure disorders;
- (b) Improve community attitudes toward seizure disorders; and
- (c) Research or promote research into seizure disorders.
A Member is any person who has:
- (a) completed the application for membership provided by the Association;
- (b) paid the annual subscription for the year commencing 1 July in which he or she applies or membership; and
- (c) is accepted to membership by the Board.
The Board may, in its absolute discretion and without giving any reasons, grant, refuse or cancel membership.
The Board may determine each year the annual subscription for membership payable for the following year commencing 1 July. The current annual subscription fee is $25.
Every Member is bound by the Constitution.
Members have the opportunity to help shape the future directions of Epilepsy Action Australia. Members have voting rights and receive communications materials including the annual report, corporate booklets, and magazines.
