What does it mean?

For many kids with epilepsy, the seizures do go away when they get older.

This depends on the type of epilepsy you have.

Doctors cannot always tell whats going to happen, but they may be able to tell you if your type of epilepsy will stop when you grow up.

Some kids need to take medicine all their life.

Your medicine should stop the seizures from happening, but it doesn't cure the epilepsy.

If you have a kind of epilepsy that usually goes away, your doctor may say it's OK to try stopping your medicine when you haven't had any seizures for a long time.

Don't try to stop your medicine unless the doctor says it's OK. If you do, the seizures may come back.
